The Idea
LOV Golf was founded on the idea to bring together like-minded people. It will encourage us to get together, play golf, experiment in new sports and to venture out of our comfort zone.

Most importantly, we wanted to create an event that could raise money for Parkinson’s Research and Men’s Mental Health. These charities are at the core of LOV Golf and the idea of raising money for causes close to us has driven this entire project.
What is it?
The LOV Golf Tour will be held twice a year, touring around the South-East of NSW. Each tournament consists of one 18 hole round of golf at one of the local courses.
The tournaments will be based on the stroke score of each individual ambrose team, calculated using devised handicaps suited to all players. GOLF GAMEBOOK is the app used to live score the event everyone can download the app here or here

Group prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded at the end of each trip as well as individual prizes for Nearest to the pin (NTP) and Longest drive. We have chosen to tour the competition around multiple locations around the South-East of NSW to get people out and about, experiencing new places and testing their comfort zones.

The Future
LOV Golf has great potential for the future and we hope to introduce events that are family inclusive and specific lady orientated days. These events will include camping, walking and even give participants the opportunity to try kayaking and rock climbing.
We are lucky enough to be surrounded by many talented blokes who are filled to the brim with knowledge on various sports and adventure seeking activities.
The Rules
LOV Golf will be played in Ambrose Golf style.

-
Team Formation: 2 Players per team
-
Format: On each hole, all team members tee off, and then the best tee shot is selected. All team members then play their next shots from chosen spot. This process continues until the ball is holed.
-
Placement of ball at selected spot: Ball may be placed within 300mm of the chosen ball.
-
Handicaps: Handicaps will be applied to each player's score to even out skill levels among teams.
-
Minimum Shots Per Hole: To ensure each player contributes to the team, there will be a minimum of 1 shot per hole from each team member.
-
Minimum Drives: Additionally, there will be a minimum of 6 Drives to be played from each player on each team (only exception is medical certificate).
-
Scoring: The team's score for each hole is calculated by adding the total number of strokes taken by the team to hole out. The team with the lowest total score at the end of the round wins.
-
Teeing Order: Whoever won the previous whole tees off first inside individual group
-
Rules of Golf: The standard Rules of Golf apply. This includes rules regarding out of bounds, hazards, penalties, etc.
-
Etiquette: Players are expected to maintain proper golf etiquette, including keeping pace with the group ahead, repairing divots, raking bunkers, and maintaining the course.
-
Team Strategy: Teams may strategize on which player's tee shot to select, based on each player's strengths and the layout of the hole.
. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.

The lov collective: a collection of people, coming together for a weekend of relaxation, adventure and mindfulness - because no weekend should be boring AND why should the golfers have all the fun.

LC is the sister event to lov golf which was also designed to bring like minded people together for an escape from our normal weekends. our main purpose is to raise funds for our chosen charities - Shake It Up & Ovarian Cancer Australia.

The first event was held in Shoal Bay, NSW in November 2025 and was called The Shoal Bay Retreat.

It was a weekend getaway with a twist... instead of hitting the greens, we hit the trails, the beach, and even dabbled in a little DIY craft action. It was a mini-holiday for the soul, complete with a scenic hike, beach swims, meditation, and exercises designed to unleash the best version of you.

In the lead-up to the Snowy Mountain Classic in November 2024, we decided to change things up.
Instead of supporting our usual charities, all funds raised were donated to our dad, and the best bloke ever... Lovie, who was scheduled to undergo Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) as part of his battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s hits hard, affecting movement and balance, and DBS can be a game changer for those who qualify. It’s a surgical procedure where electrodes are implanted in the brain to help manage symptoms. While it’s not a cure, it offers the potential for improved physical and mental control.
We rallied around Lovie to ensure he had the support he needed both before and after surgery. In the end, with your support and thanks to all our sponsors, we managed to raise over $10,000 which went directly to him.

A few words from Lovie after his operation...

A big THANK YOU!

After months of testing, late last year it was confirmed, I was a candidate for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) – a relief and terrifying. A treatment for those with advanced Parkinson’s symptoms. 27 February 2025 was surgery day – 7 hours later having been awake for 5 hours I came out with stimulators inserted in my brain and connected to a rechargeable battery on my chest (amazing). While fine tuning of the DBS will take 6 – 9 months, early signs have been promising.

I have been absolutely stunned by the support and love from LOV Golf – I can’t thank you all enough - it has helped me in so many ways. Thanks so much for helping me on my parkie journey - I’ll keep you posted and hope to be swinging a golf club with you soon.
